Midnight flora Vase/Kashmir papier mache/Handmade/Handpainted real gold colors/bushes and birds
Weight 3.7 kg apx
Dimensions 28 × 28 × 75 cm
We have made this papier mache vase exclusively manually with hands and tools without any machine help. This vase is a part of centuries old traditional art kalamqari and paper mache of Kashmir.
We raised the body of this vase on a model with layers of trash newspapers and resins. Than the body was furnished with slime and mud in order to turn a rougher surface into a smoother one.
Than we colored a black base for this vase and me and my father Nasir Hussain a senior artist painted the vase with bushes, leaves, flora and birds. This blue theme has been very popular recently. So we decided to go with a relatively bluish color pattern on this.
The after completing the colors and shades, the empty black surface was filled with real 24k gold metallic colors in a specific style.
The final stage of this process is varnish and lacquer layering to make the work everlasting and secure from many external and environmental factors from effecting it.
We have made 2 pieces and both differ slightly due to hand-crafted work at all places. In order to purchase both pieces to decorate your place with a pair you would need to purchase 2 from the inventory. Otherwise this vase is sold solely by us.
We will cover the mouth of this vase with special brass lining before shipment so that it is featured with the capability to hold water and flora properly and safely.
